Last week, we talked about what helps you be at your best. This week, we’re thinking about who. For many of us, as we get older (and especially if we get married and/or have children), we find we have less time for people — especially people who don’t make life better or easier. I’ve had situations recently where I have paused to consider the simple fact that I have an actual toddler at home — so, I simply don’t have time for adults behaving like toddlers.

As we strive to be all we can be professionally and personally, it helps to surround ourselves with people who make us better, people who bring out the best in us, people who support and uplift and positively challenge us.

This week, I encourage you consider the question: Who helps you be at your best?

I’m fortunate to have a handful of amazing friends and colleagues who know me well and support me. They know what I’m capable of, and they support my endeavors. In recent months, I’ve started working with a talented woman (and fellow mom to a toddler boy), Amber Anderson. Readers of this blog (Hi, Dad!), I mention Amber because she’s pretty amazing. Positive and motivated — and always thinking. Working for and with her has made me better.

I’m also honored to be a part of MORE: the retreat, an event Amber has put together to launch her MORE Movement, which is designed to provide support to entrepreneurs and professionals who are also parents and are trying to be better at both. I’m looking forward to sharing more about the retreat — and all that I’m sharing there as well as what I learn.
