What content do you crave?

We talk a lot about content. What will bring more people to our website? What will get people to subscribe? We brainstorm story ideas. We seek out new ways to present information. We dig deep to find new angles.

Sometimes in all of this content creation, we lose sight of why we were doing it in the first place.

It’s not about SEO. It’s about revenue. It’s not about clicks. (At least, not if you’re doing it right.)

Content marketing is all about giving people information that is useful or entertaining or inspiring. The rest will follow.

That brings us to this week’s writing prompt: What content do YOU crave?

That’s right. Take 10 or 15 minutes and think about what information you want from other brands. What types of content keeps you coming back for more?

Maybe once you take a moment to think like a consumer (rather than a content creator), you’ll have some new insights on this machine that is content marketing.
